And I’ll Be
And I’ll Be is a large-format self-portrait collography, which is merging personal reflection with visual expression. The title of the work is a wordplay that connects the text inscribed on the graphic print with the title itself, forming a complete statement: “My whole body aches, but my heart hurts the most. And I’ll be OK.” This layered narrative captures the complexity of physical and emotional pain, while also expressing a firm sense of recovery and acceptance. Created during a time of illness and emotional heartbreak, the work reflects the artist’s confident affirmation that she will be okay.
The print was part of the group show Prints and Impressions 2 at MGLC in Ljubljana. The exhibition resulted from a public call open to Slovenian artists of all generations, actively working in the field of printmaking. It marked a starting point for further research into Slovenian graphic production and its involvement in contemporary visual art practices.
